According to data from the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), Vietnam rice exports in Q1 2025 reached over 2 million tons, equivalent to over 1.2 billion USD in revenue, setting a new record for both volume and value.
Average export rice price reached 600 USD/ton, up 15% year-on-year, driven by high demand from traditional markets such as the Philippines, Indonesia and China.
Vietnam is currently the world third largest rice exporter, after India and Thailand. Vietnam rice industry is strongly shifting towards high-quality rice, organic rice and specialty rice to increase value-added.
